I noticed your name on a map, good job - I like the Beals classic projection.
I've had to look twice to see how you made it... Seems you cut out hemispeheres and continents out of projections where north-south is a straight line for either hemisphere (or continent) - then you enlarged certain continents such as Europe and made other parts smaller such as Greenland and Afrika
Now that Ive looked at it for this long I notice that Greenland is smaller than Alaska and that SA is too far up north (or even both Americas) :p Other then that it suits the purpose perfectly!
It still looks a lot like we're used to seeing the actual world; I think a lot of people might not notice the amount you adjusted it. A big problem with regular projections is that they aren't suited for a world map risk game since a lot of relevant European powers have relatively small territories. (I'm not even mad the low countries aren't a territory)
Most players come from Europe or N-A but neither continent looks til...
you're about due for a comment eh bub? Well here ya go, don't wiz on the electric fence. There's a comment and a tip all wrapped up into one neat package. No charge
thanks man. i've been changing up my strategy lately because, as you can see from my score, the old methods weren't working. either that or i have the most horrific luck in the history of man.
We did try hard. and your still in there but you have quite a tight rope ahead of you, probably ends in a noose. Good game. Enjoyed it there for a few turns. Thanks for never crossing that border it was refreshing knowing I didn't have to worry about it. Ok I still kept one eye open but that is habit. Good luck.
Hey RJ - I'm guessing from your sig "escuchala, la ciudad esperando" that you are a fan of Black Star - check out these Talib Kweli and Mos Def remixes, pretty cool.
