Thanks engelbrekt. I am a Kiwi by birth and a Canadian by choice when in my teens. Canada became an independent country in 1867. Canada went into both WWI and WWII early in the unpleasantries as a British Allie. The U.S. came into both wars later and played a big role in helping the Allies bring both wars to an end. My two favorite Generals are George Patton and Erwin Rommel, both masters at rapid mobilized attacks. My favorite war movie is "Patton".

Aha, Now I see you are canadian Patton. But its northamerica... And you are allied to the americans in most wars... But when US fighted the mexicans Canada was not involved. And yu wasnt a free nation. You had to wait until 1931 ?

Nice Mexican story told by one of the most honorable players on this site! I love history so interesting to learn somehing I didnt know. I dont know much about Mexico but I know you americans smashed the gringos in some wars.. Also in Phillipines I remember! But at that time maybee Sgt Patton was to Young?!

a bit of history about the Mexican American War > "On May 14 [1916], 2nd Lt. George S. Patton raided the San Miguelito Ranch, near Rubio, Chihuahua. Patton, a Pershing aide and a future World War II general, was out looking to buy some corn from the Mexicans when he came across the ranch of Julio Cárdenas, an important leader in the Villista military organization. With fifteen men and three Dodge touring cars, Patton led America's first motorised military action, in which Cárdenas and two other men were shot dead. The young lieutenant then had the three Mexicans strapped to the hood of the cars and driven back to General Pershing's headquarters. Have to say mate your idea to play a trial game helped me bigtime in the game,ended up liking the board....and can you imagine how many games we'd have had to play to Launch one of those things...lol...txs
