Major Command Risk Open to Public – Play Risk Free

Play Risk Free at Major Command

Great news to risk game players! You can now play Risk free at Major Command ‘s website. As of now, the training wheels have come off this ol’ vessel of ass-kicking Risk strategic gaming. Not quite out of beta yet.  We are RC1, which is the Release Candidate 1.  If all goes well, we will be 1.0 in two weeks and celebrate with a big party and some fresh new maps.Play risk free

Regardless of RC1 or 1.0, the Major Command you are on now is for all intents and purposes, life and in the wild. The user caps are off, so we will no longer be limited to 1,000 active users.  Feel free to spread the good word or invite your friends.  Expect to see a lot of new faces around as well.  There will be more noobs than ever, so play Risk free, be nice, be friendly, and try not to crush their spirits until at least round 3.

With RC1 comes a bunch of new features as well as the payment system which will allow you to access many of those features.  We think it’s fair and one hell of a good value.  Given that many of you have been upgraded to a strategist for free during the beta, this is how it all shakes out.

  • If you are currently a grunt, then you will need to upgrade to Strategist  or Commander class to access those features.
  • If you are currently Strategist (during beta), then you will be given two weeks more of Strategist class privileges before being demoted to grunt.  Of course is you upgrade to Commander during that period you are all set.

So Just to refresh, this is how the user classes go.

  • Grunt – Free

    • CANNOT start real time games (but can join them).

Map Assistants and Ambassadors Wanted

Map Assistants and Game Ambassadors

Play Risk Map Assistants Ambassadors
Map assistants are very important partners to us while creating new strategy maps for Major Command Risk online games. Gearing up for going public again, the responsibilities of CentCom are the creation of a good clip. We are looking for interested and able Risk players to report for the following positions: Map Assistants and Game Ambassadors.

The first one described here by our Major Command Studios head, Shepherd. We’re currently seeking folks with sharp eyes and impeccable taste to serve as map assistants in our Screening Room. The screening room is where our map artists craft future Major Command Risk maps, working on everything from the placement of the regions down to the width of the map’s troop containers. This is not the place for user-generated map development; that is still to come. This is a viewing room where our artists seek advice and feedback. Screening room map assistants will be expected to check in routinely (at least weekly) to look over and give feedback on new drafts. Assistants should have a solid understanding of how the game plays, and of the unique game features here at Major Command. Knowledge of Photoshop would be helpful in conversing with the artists, but is absolutely not required. Candidates should also be able to keep a secret, as some new projects we’ll want to keep under wraps until we’re ready to unveil!

If you are interesting in this, and we are looking for up to 10 folks, please send a private note to Shepherd.

Game Ambassadors

The second position is that of Risk game Ambassador.

The responsibilities will be as a go-to person for new players to ask questions of and get answers. As well as set up and play games with new players. As a game Ambassador, you will be charged with extolling and extending the good will of Major Command Risk strategies. You must know the rules of the game, the ins and outs of this site, and where to direct new players who need answers you cannot provide. We are looking for up to 3 people for this (staff) position.

If interested, please send a private note to ghost, who will be the liaison.

Play Risk free as a game tester

Play Risk Free

You can now play risk free as much as you want. All you need is to log into our Major Command risk game development site and enjoy playing your favorite Risk game online absolutely free to play. Only keep in mind that our strategy games are not associated with Pogo Risk or Hasbro games.

Otherwise, things are going great behind the scenes at ol’ Major Command headquarters (located in a sub 24 miles off the antarctic coast).  So great in fact that we need a bit of assistance from some enterprising game players.

Major Command Risk Game Tester

We have two volunteer positions open.

1. We need a group of about 10 players to test online new features added to Major Command risk game. Our game development site is like a parallel world of the main website where new features are rough and mostly functioning. The position would require logging into the game development site occasionally, playing a few strategy games, putting features through their paces, and most importantly, reporting bugs and suggestions.

2. We are also looking for gamers to help support and grow the wiki to our Major Command risk games. These inline game players would coordinate and plan new entries as well as fill out and spruce up current entries. They should have knowledge of Wikipedia formatting (we use the same wiki software) or be able to learn it quickly.  They should also have an undying passion for strategic gaming reference material. Visit our Wiki page: https://www.majorcommand.com/wiki/Main_Page

Ok, the last part is not required, but helpful. So, did you want to play risk free as an online game tester?

All positions are for volunteer game testers, but may have various perks down the road.

If you are interested in playing risk online free as a game tester, just contact Badorties via a private note.
